TO USE THE KROGER COMMUNITY REWARDS PROGRAM:

• Olentangy Liberty Middle School PTO members should register online at krogercommunityrewards.com
• Be sure to have your Kroger Plus card handy and register your card with your organization after you sign up.
• If you do not yet have a Kroger Plus card, they are available at the customer service desk at any Kroger.
• Click on Sign In/Register
• Most participants are new online customers, so they must click on SIGN UP TODAY in the ‘New Customer?’ box.
• Sign up for a Kroger Rewards Account by entering zip code, clicking on favorite store, entering your email address and creating a password, then agreeing to the terms and conditions
• You will then get a message to check your email inbox and to “click on the link” within the body of the email. You will be sent to a Kroger.com web page that will tell you your “Account Has Been Activated”.  At the bottom of the page it will say “click here to login to your account”.
• Once you click on the link it will take you to another screen where you can click on “My Account” (on the left side of the screen) and use your email address and password to proceed to the next step.
• Click on Edit Kroger Community Rewards information (on right side of screen) and input your Kroger Plus card number.
• Update or confirm your information.
• Enter the Olentangy Liberty Middle School PTO NPO number (80966) and click on confirm.
• To verify you are enrolled correctly, you will see your organization’s name on the right side of your information page (OLPTO).
• REMEMBER, purchases will not count for your group until after you register your card(s).
• If you use your phone number at the register?  Call 877-576-7587 to get your Kroger Plus card number.
• Members must swipe their registered Kroger Plus card or use the phone number that is related to their registered Kroger Plus card when shopping for each purchase to count.
• If you are interested in the alternate SCANBAR method of member registration, please call 800-837-4483 and a SCANBAR letter will be mailed to you.

Web-Page Chair: Coordinates with district contact to update existing OLPTO website. Mark Latham will train.

Beautification Chair: Plans new beautification projects and maintains outdoor gardens with assistance from staff, students and other parent volunteers.

Nominating Committee: Proposes a slate of candidates for New Board. The committee needs to be in place soon after the first of the year. Because of term limits, we need a president or co-presidents for the 2009-2010 board.

Parent/Teacher Conference Dinner: Contact Principal for staff numbers, coordinate commit-tee and volunteers, plan, set-up and clean up.

Use Kroger and Scrip gift cards to raise money for your child’s Washington, D.C. trip. You pay the face value of the gift card and use it with no cost to you. Any gift card with a rebate value greater than or equal to 4% earns you 2% credit of your purchase towards your child’s DC trip. There is only a 39¢ charge for PrestoPay processing when you place an order (less than the cost of stamps, envelopes and gas than placing an order the old way :)

You do need to wait a couple days after registering with Presto Pay to verify your account and place your first order but once you set up your account, for the remaining years you order Scrip online, it only takes minutes to place your order from the comfort of your own home.

We now have hundreds of retail Scrip gift cards to choose from. We hope you have the opportunity to attend one of the club’s productions. The students do a fantastic job and they appreciate all the support we give them.

Polaris Fashion Place has teamed up with DeVry University to sponsor the “Earning for Learning” program. Schools have the opportunity to win one of ten cash prizes, from $1,000 to $7,500.

The rules are simple. Here is what you need to do:

1. Customers must purchase or dine at restaurants at the Polaris Fashion Place from 8/18/08-10/18/08.
2. Customers must present receipts to Guest Reception.
3. Shop on Mondays and Tuesdays; they are double point days.
4. The highest dollar per student ratio will determine the winning school.
5. The tote board in front of Guest Reception will be updated weekly with the top 15 leading schools.

We encourage you to get actively involved in the LMS PTO. Why? It’s FUN and rewarding! Working on committees allows you to use your talents and make a difference in your child’s education. What’s New?

Our Back-to-School Store will take place in a new location. Purchase your supplies, Logo Wear, and Kroger Reloadable Cards in the Band and Choir rooms on August 13th and 14th. PTO members will be available to answer questions and record your volunteering requests.

We are introducing a new and easy way to order Scrip gift cards online. Scrip will be available for purchase online at www.shopwithscrip.com. Once enrolled, your order amount will be deducted directly from your checking account. See our PTO website for details on how to register for this important fundraising opportunity.

Our PTO meetings will be held on the third Friday of the month. Our first meeting will be on August 29th.

The LMS PTO fundraiser philosophy is to participate with fundraisers where families make purchases for items they are already buying. Our budget is funded through the Kroger Cares Reloadable Card program as well as Scrip. We also encourage you to participate in the Polaris Fashion Place, Earning for Learning program, as well as Giant Eagle’s, Apples For the Students program. See related articles in this newsletter.
